Vacancy: Decisions & Data Professional
Where business understanding and data engineering meet
You are technically strong and love to work with data. You see the potential and worth of data-driven working, but have also been noticing that the business is not achieving its full potential. Your dashboards and reports are collecting dust. You provide people with insights, but in practice, peoples behavior, actions or decisions are not changing. You know: there has to be another way.
We know that most data projects fail not because of bad technology, but because the wrong questions were asked at the start. At Diamond Decisions, we bridge that gap, and we want you to grow into that role with us. We train people like you who already have the right instincts and motivation to become an all-around professional. You will get the oppportunity to use your technical foundation as a springboard into business consulting. As member of our team you will learn to understand what an organization needs to make better decisions, while continuing to build the data infrastructure that makes those decisions possible.
What you will do
In this role you move between technical delivery and client-facing work, sometimes in the same week. The balance will shift over time as you develop your consultancy skills. Our senior consultants will mentor you on the business and consultancy side, so that you grow into it at a pace that feels natural, grounded in the technical credibility you already have.
Concretely, this means:
- You support business modelling sessions and workshops, helping clients articulate their most important decisions, map their processes as funnels and define what data each decision actually needs.
- You use Diamond DWH to translate those requirements into concrete data models, which are built by the OS following Kimball dimensional modelling principles.
- You build and maintain data warehouses with the medallion architecture plus a platinum layer with Diamond DWH.
- You will take on a part of the ongoing development and maintenance of our DWH OS, built on Python, node.js, JSON and REST APIs.
You work closely with our senior consultants to ensure that what gets built technically stays connected to the business question it was built for.

What you bring
Your foundation
- A solid foundation of minimum 5 years in data engineering and data analysis: you are comfortable with data warehousing, SQL, Python and the Kimball methodology, or actively developing towards it.
- You build things that work and you take ownership of what you deliver.
- A genuine curiosity about the organisations we work with, the methodology we are developing and what better decisions actually look like in practice.
- You work independently but know when to align. You don’t wait to be told what to do, but you don’t disappear into a solution without checking in either.
- You are able to translate business requests into technical solutions.
Your growth direction
- An analytical mind that does not stop at the technical question. You want to understand why a decision matters before you model the data behind it.
- Experience with or genuine affinity for requirements gathering and business modelling. The ability to lead or co-facilitate a workshop, or a clear ambition to develop that skill.
- Experience with writing Python code is a plus, but not a requirement. We will bring you up to speed.
